Change the appearance/display of attributes at checkout?

We have many attributes for our products. How can we make the attributes look better on the checkout pages/shopping cart pages? For example, see how they currently appear on the shopping_cart.php page:

 

 

I would like for it to appear something like this:

 

 

This is how this particular product page looks with the attribute options:

 

 

Any ideas on how to make it appear much more professional?

 

I also don't know why some of the attribute names are abbreviated. For example, the attribute Change Color Scheme is currently showing up as Chg clr schm.

I found it, I was able to change the shopping_cart.tpl.php in the template directory to make them look how I wanted them to look.
