starcarlton Posted April 5, 2009 Posted April 5, 2009 I have looked through the forum for advice concerning the product attributes - and I couldn't find what I was looking for - so I am just going to ask. At some point when searching the contributions - I could have swore I found one that would allow an admin to add the attributes to the product on the same page as the description - price - images. Where is the contribution? (if it exists) - I am getting lost. Also - can someone recommend what contributions they have added that work to maximize the product attributes? I really don't want to have pages of attributes set up - it would be nice if they could be handled on a per item basis. Like a way to just update an attribute when it is called for: Example: T-shirt has sizes small, med, large, xl - then we are out of med - I want to just find the product in the admin - and remove the med attribute - then save it. I guess I just don't like having to add 5 size attributes for each product individually. Any help or suggestions would be great!! Thanks
jhande Posted April 6, 2009 Posted April 6, 2009 I could have swore I found one that would allow an admin to add the attributes to the product on the same page as the description - price - images. That's a standard function of osC. The attributes will display on the product_info.php page. Also - can someone recommend what contributions they have added that work to maximize the product attributes? I have added - Actual Price in Pull down Option Menu v1.2.3a and Sort Product Attributes v1.2 I really don't want to have pages of attributes set up - it would be nice if they could be handled on a per item basis. Thanks The only thing I have come across that might help with having multiple attributes for tons of items is - Attributes Sort with Attribute Clone v1.8.3. But I'm not really sure if it is ready or still in the "working the bugs out" stage (beta), read the support threads - here. I think no matter what you will be stuck with all your attributes structured the same in your admin panel. I haven't seen anything that would change them to the product description page in the admin. You'll still have to search through the attributes page for the specific item to edit one of it's attributes. If anyone kmows where or how to change the location of attributes entry to the product entry page, let us know please as that would be a really neat feature. :) - :: Jim :: - - My Toolbox ~ Adobe Web Bundle, XAMPP & WinMerge | Install ~ osC v2.3.3.4 -

I could have swore I saw that contribution at one time - but now when I search for it - I can't find it :( I think the attribute cloner would be a good - but like you said - it seems it may not be in good working order yet. Thanks for your response - hopefully we will get more to sort this out.

jhande Posted April 6, 2009 Posted April 6, 2009 Hey Jason, So far this is the closest I can find - Linkmatics Attribute Sets Plus v1.2 by toasty 8 Jun 2007. Sounds more stable than my previous suggestion. I might give it a try. - :: Jim :: - - My Toolbox ~ Adobe Web Bundle, XAMPP & WinMerge | Install ~ osC v2.3.3.4 -

Another member pointed me to this contribution - I think this is the one I was originally talking about. :D I am going to sort through it this week - once I am done eating these peeps.
