Eligator Posted April 5, 2009 Posted April 5, 2009 Hi All, I hope someone will pick this up and give me a life line here :-) We have an osCommerce shop (www.doublealpha.biz) which ranks VERY badly on Google and other search engines. We installed the Ultimate SEO contrib last week. When trying to generate a site map, the crawler (site map generator) only sees a few pages (around 80) out of many many hundreds we have. It seems the site map generator cannot see the shop itself which is built in an iFrame (I assume...). How would I get the crawler to see and index these inner pages which is basically the actual shop? Any input would be highly appreciated! Thank you, Eli.
Jack_mcs Posted April 5, 2009 Posted April 5, 2009 You should install the sitemap generator contribution (see My Addons) made for oscommerce. It will do ti correctly. However, IFrames are nortoriously evil when it comes to getting the pages of a site ranked well. It would help you more to remove that code. Please may I have the link to that contribution? How easy is it to install? Also, have you got any idea to why when clicking on the individual products, the address bar at the top of the browser does not reflect that? whatever you click on, the address remains static (http://www.doublealpha.biz/shop.htm#top). Is this an issue that I need to resolve? Thanks again. Eli.
Jack_mcs Posted April 5, 2009 Posted April 5, 2009 You can find it in My Addons as mentioned (right column). As for the link, it sounds like your code has been edited since that is not standard oscommerce code. Since it could be just about anything causing it, I can't venture a guess. You'll have to find out what caused that change and proceed from there.
