Calander of Events Script??????

Recommended Posts

Hello Everyone. I was curious if any of your have installed or created a script that was updated through admin that acted as a calander of future events outside of the cart itself?

Basically, so a company site could show upcoming shows and events, maybe list store specials a few weeks in advance, list arrival dates for new items, list dates the store will be closed, etc, etc, etc. displayed on a monthly calander, that shows the events title..........and when clicked it pulls up a page were futher details than particular dates events can be listed.

Hope you all had a great weekend!

Thanks in advance for your help.

Ryan

That's a great suggetion, I'd like that too, has anyone else installed/created a calendar mod?

like http://www.artscalendar.co.nz/99/02/2003/99/

And what about Gallery, has anyone integrated gallery with OSCommerce see here: http://gallery.menalto.com/index.php or http://xadglobal.com/html/modules.php?op=m...lude=albums.php

I'm working on integrating gallery, but I am waiting a week or two while I finish a couple of other projects. Gallery integrates easily into other php and html programs so it shouldn't be very hard at all. Pretty much you just have to change a few things so it calls your store's headers, footers, etc.

Debbie, That rocks! I for one deeply appreciate you! Where will you post to let people know what you've done and how to do it???

what would need to be done when Menalto is done with v2.0, what I mean is will it break in oscommerce after the upgrade? Or just as easy to install?

Thanxs for your input.

I'll post in the contibutions section, I am keeping up on the V2.0 discussions. It actually should be easier to integrate because it is being converted to be more modular.

You can email me at [email protected] if you want to continue this discussion, we kindof got off the topic of calendar scripts :-)

I do think there is a calendar script in the contributions, but I don't know if it has the features you are looking for. I would also search on php calendars at http://sourceforge.com and see if there is something you can integrate.

There is lots of Calendar scripts out there... of course they won't necessarly be easy to incorporate into osCommerce.

Here are the ones I have found/used:

http://www.calendarscript.com/

Probably the best, but it has a cost (about $80), also it's in Perl. I have used it/setup clients with it and it has lots of features... can also be customized quite a bit, great if you are familliar with perl.

http://www.circulargenius.com/flatcalendar/

A simple callendar in PHP... Can be set up in a few minutes... Easely cutomizable.... Since it is in PHP it should be easy to port to osCommerce (for someone familiar with PHP... not me!)

http://www.cascade.org.uk/software/php/cal...endar/index.php

An interresting Calendar PHP class... but just a start...

http://www.extropia.com/applications/webcal_perl.html

This is an extensive Calendar system in Perl... I was able to set it up and customize it for a client, but it is a bit of a nightmare to maintain/change...

Then of course a search in google or sourceforge will bring up lots of others... I remember looking through dozens!

I hope this will help...

Thank you for taking the time to copy all those links over... I personally am looking for a calendar that can be used to make visitors awareof upcoming events, perhaps it's not a calendar at all but more of an extention of a news module that would have a calendar "look" in an info box, but when yo uclick on the date past, present, future...

any ideas???

Well, this sounds a lot like a calendar!

There is 2 way to do this... programming it oneself to specs or finding something close that already exits that is open source or inexpensive...

I just found another set of bookmarks from a long research on the subject you might want to check. I research the subject about 6-8 months ago so there could be much more out there...

This one was one of my initial favorite

http://htmlcal.sourceforge.net/

http://bulldog.tzo.org/webcal/webcal.html

http://webcalendar.sourceforge.net/

Could be a good candiate for integration in osCommerce... it's in PHP and pretty extensive. Also check the bottom of the page, it has links to competing calendars.

Again, I hope this will help...

MRBS looks like a pretty good calander, I was hoping to get someone to help modify/convert one of these for oscommerce to use as an online booking system for tanning or hydromassage rooms.

Any ideas, help getting started would be kool!

Multi Room Booking System. Looks like it will do just what I need which is to display calanders for all of my service rooms so that people can make appointments for our services online.

However, I would like to figure out how to integrate it with oscommerce so I can get to one database and have it look like it was designed for my site.

Post Calendar 4.0 is another great OS php calendar, I'd be interested in seeing a contribution like this for OSC shops...
