Hi,

I'm trying to do the same: use the banners to point people to a specific category of products inside my own website that I want them to visit ... but I lose the osCsid number when I click on a banner.

You can see it in action at:

http://www.railowsky.com/tienda/

Add a product into your Shopping Cart (so you can see on the IE address your osCsid number), then click on the banner in header (that says "Nueva Exposicion - J. Delgado - Naturalez Muerta").

It points to a Category in my products category list (Galeria de Exposiciones).

I've set in the Banner to be linked with the following URL:

http://www.railowsky.com/tienda/catalog/de...lt.php?cPath=24

I've also tried with:

http://www.railowsky.com/tienda/catalog/de...Path=24&osCsid=

And with:

http://www.railowsky.com/tienda/catalog/de...osCsid=<?php echo $HTTP_GET_VARS['osCsid']; ?>

... which is the code that is working fine for the GIF file that I've put into the column_right.php (that says: Entre en nuestra galeria de arte online)

But none work.

Do you know I must use for URL in the Banners Panel when I try to point a banner to a specific category in my own website?

Thanks in advance,

Jose Delgado

I am having the problem that my banners are opening in the same window instead of a new one. I am dumbfoudned because in banners.php I have verified that it does indeed say "target=_blank" - so whats going on? Is is because I am using the html portion of the banner manager? it is a script. Can you please help Linda?

I am also having a problem that the banners are showing on SSL pages and the non-secure message is howing up - I thought this was already fixed in the banner manager? I'm using the Preload v5

Hello All!

I'm having trouble getting a banner to display in the header. From what I could gather from other postings here, I have renamed the banner group, uploaded the image into the file, entered the url, set the start date, and I think I got the code into the /includes/header.php. I think my problem may be with the directory permission. When I typed in evolutiontradingcompany.com/catalog/includes/functions/banner/php into my browser, it said that I did not have permission to write to that file. Where do I check this? I went into my admin and I have permission to write to all files except one. Is there another place to change permissions? The one I found did not have anywhere to type in a code. I saw a permission code chmod777 in one of the discussions, is this a code that applies? Please help!

Okay, I've played around a bit, i can now see the banner in the preview in the banner manager, couldn't get that before. After looking at the past few posts, i think i may be in the same ballpark with the banner.php code questions. What should those lines read, I changed the_blank to my banner name. I'm not really sure what I'm doing in there. Help!

For whatever reason the only files that will show in my banners are .jpg's. This is fine with me, it just took me two days to figure it out. I also figured out how to add banners to header if anyone is interested.
