I just added that text to my live store. Thanks for reminding.
Guest
I think it looks pretty good. Is it a template? I really like the carousel. Is this freeware/shareware/contribution that you can share? Reviews are a double edged sword. If you use them, make sure you can go in a remove them if necessary. Customers are not kind. The text for "customer reviews on this product" is too big, wraps and is cut off on the top. I'm not a big fan of the comic sans font, but that's just personal preference. You have a bunch of broken images. I assume you're just not done. There is nothing on the site that says your SSL secured (logo or something). All of the standard links not related to product point back to the home page (shipping, money back, rest of bottom links, forum link in upper right. There's no site map (see aforementioned bad links). There's no meta tags. You need to look at the security post for add ons to secure your site, if you haven't already done so. I didn't have time to logon and do all of that stuff, so can't comment on that. Make sure the SSL is in place. Overall it's a good first cut. I would get some more feedback, add to it and repost. ericcheng81
Thank you so much for the feedback. There are still a lot for me to learn :). By the way, the contribution is from other fellow: http://addons.oscommerce.com/info/6123 Pretty easy to integrate :). Enjoy. I think it looks pretty good. Is it a template? ♥kymation
Apparels => Apparel Computers Accessories => Computer Accessories Empty categories need to be filled -- I assume you're working on that. The color scheme is ... interesting. ColorZilla gives me something very like a rainbow. This may be good for a kids site, but not so much for your product line. I would try to stick to a more focused palette. Bright colors are OK, just not so many disconnected colors. The Categories menu heading looks a bit odd as well, as if the bubble heading is overlaying a plain color. The Specials heading looks good, so it's not a general problem with the boxes. I would put the breadcrumb trail back as well. It helps customers find things, and it helps search engines as well. Speaking of search engines, your pages are very light on useful text. Some good ad copy, even if at the bottom of the product pages, would help you a lot. Ditto on meta tags. Please post this again when you get further along; I'd like to see what you do with it. Gomeza
Hi ericcheng81 That is a nice looking store. What is particularly nice about it is that it accomplishes the two most important criteria for constructing an online store: Prospective purchasers know immediately upon landing on your store what you are selling and navigation once they are there is intuitive. It is those two criteria combined with the pricing and delivery of the goods you are selling, that are the most important aspects influencing the buying decision. Where there is a minimum standard in a professional looking online store overall presentation, in that an amateurish store design can influence the buying decision negatively, functionality is the key. Color choices, fonts used etc. etc. are almost meaningless to the success of the store. If you have constructed this template youself, all I would recommend is to do some cross browser testing. Nice job.
