Hi there,

Just a quick question. What are the correct chmod permissions for all the files and directories in the shop?

I am using Check Permissions addon (http://addons.oscommerce.com/info/6134) but would like to know if I'm setting the correct permissions. Here is what it lists;

Set BOTH configure.php to "644"

Set php files NOT in ADMIN to "755"

Set All other files NOT in ADMIN to (gif, jpg, etc.) "644"

Set php files in ADMIN to "755"

Set All other files in ADMIN to (gif, jpg, etc.) "644"

Set /images directory to "755"

Set /images/graphs directory to "755"

Set /admin/backup directory to "755"

Set /temp directory to "755"

Set /tmp directory to "755"

Set all other directories to "755"

Is this all correct and safe?

Regards, Jake.

It varies with the server. The configure files should be 444 or 400 if possible. Directories should be 755 but 777 is needed on some. Files should be 644 but some are needed to be 755 (or 777).
