ryanking
Did anyone know that how to add a textbox for the customer to input their remark/requirement for each product before putting the product into the shopping cart. The content of the textbox should be saved when checking out. The textbox just likes the product attributes and allows people to input the text. Is there any contribution which has this feature?
Guest
If you use the search function you will find countless other posts on this subject and you would also find a few contributions referenced. One in particular is called Product Attributes - Option type feature, this should meet your needs. To see it in action follow the link in my sig. cheers barry

Guest
the readme file basically tells you what features it has. cheers barry
ryanking
Actually, I want to get a contribution which has text attributes and with other additional features. I would like to add the contribution of QuantityController 5.1 and Attributes Sorter and Copier 5.1, but I can't find the text attributes in the Attributes Sorter and Copier 5.1. Besides, they are created on the different snapshot. So it is not easy to integrate them into the latest Snapshot. It is perfect if the official oscommerce will add more features in it. For example, affiliates, gift coupon, various type of discount, Linda's Quantity Controller and Attributes Sorter & Copier, guestbook, forum, news scroller, etc. 8) the readme file basically tells you what features it has. cheers barry
Guest
Quantity controller has an attributes sorter in the code so you may have a bit of trouble trying to integrate quantity controller 5.1 and attributes sorter and copier 5.1 together. The text mod 'Product Attributes - Option type feature' i have working along with a host of other contributions including quantity controller 5.1. If you want additional product attributes such as checkbox, radio button etc. there is another contribution for this the name of which escapes me now, but although this mod is advertised as having text attributes functionality, it doesn't work. It is perfect if the official oscommerce will add more features in it. For example, affiliates, gift coupon, various type of discount, Linda's Quantity Controller and Attributes Sorter & Copier, guestbook, forum, news scroller, etc. This has been discussed in various other threads but to have features to please everybody (not everybody needs all features) the core would get bogged down and performance would be compromised. This thread http://www.oscommerce.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=30725 gives you an idea of the people thinking the same as you. At the end of the day you are getting this open source cart for free so really all you need to invest is your time either just to hack the code ( if you are profficient in php) or start from scratch and learn the skills to hack the code (like me). Hope this helps... cheers barry[/code]
