grlwrtr
Before installing this contribution, I was wondering how it works. Does it make a unique product for each product + attribute pair? For example, a wig (product) that comes in 76 shades (each shade an attribute). Does it make 76 unique products, one product for each product + attribute (shade) pair? Or does it add the attributes list as a drop down menu on the display page which the customer selects from? Thank you for your help.
Ajeh
Each product holds its own attributes. This will allow you to take a product with 76+ attributes and copy those attributes to another product. Then, on the categories.php page you can edit the product's attributes via checkboxes, fill-ins, etc. to be more specific. You can even setup a "Categories Default Attributes Product" and leave the product with status off, then use this as the master for all products in the category. When you need to update all the attributes in the category, use the: Copy attributes from one product to all products in the category feature. grlwrtr
Thank you for replying. I've learned so much from your posts and from your contributions. You write well. I have not been able to find posts that deal with the issue (maybe non-issue) of possible conflicts between the Attribute Sorter Copier and the mod Big Images v1.23a. Any suggestions that you might make would be appreciated. Thank you.
Ajeh
You should not really have any conflicts. Just backup first and be careful when updating the categories.php file. Remember, Beyond Compare is your friend ... :D
grlwrtr
Thank you for replying. I got Beyond Compare after you mentioned it in a post on the Attribute Copier. I am already wondering how I ever lived without it. It is very nifty.
