jippyuk
Before I start Ive had a good read and search through the forums for modules which will do the below, however I havent been able to find anything that comes up trumps as of yet, I know there is an aweful lot of support from this product so am hoping for a response which hopefully will meet my goals! :) Hi there Currently been reading through all the features of this system, seems lovely so far with the ability to do pretty much everything that I wanted. However there is one thing which prevents me from moving further. Let me explain: We basically have a shop with all of our items, all electronic components and goods. We are trying to get a system in place where users can browse through our selection of components and items online, and see the prices for these items. When a client decides that there is something which they are interested in, they can basically reserve the item, then when they come into the store they will have a printed off slip saying that they reserve items a,b,c. The system would hopefully fire off an email to us to let us know that client a has reserved these products so that we can prepare them for collection for when he/she comes to the store. We do not want to plague the client with any sort of payment options, paypal CC etc, only the ability to reserve the item and or to view our online catalogue. Im sure something of this nature must be achievable through OsCommerce, heck its probably already in place (though i didnt find it in the manual) Just wondering if anyone else has ever wanted such a system and if so whether they managed to find a solution for it. We would not expect to get a large amount of orders through the online system (though it would be nice!) however by just having all our products available to view online, at least it allows the users the ability to look at their own leisure without necessarily havign to come into the store to ask (can get extremely busy at times) We have another inhouse system in place which we do all of our ordering through, as a result it would be easy for us to update when items get sold through the website into the inhouse system. Hoping for some insight. Thanks for taking the time to read. JP
