Guest
I set up a store about a week ago. I tried to access it today and got a 404 message. The folder 'store' which was where I installed oscommerce (install done through my cpanel) is just gone. The SQL database is still there. When I log into my cpanel and then clicking on Fantasic deLuxe (which I used to install oscommerce), I noticed this message: UPDATE NOW! Following installations are not up-to-date. Keep your installations secure and up-to-date and ensure that future versions of Fantastico will be able to maintain your installations by updating now. OS Commerce Location Installed Version Upgrade Link /store Unknown Only manual upgrade possible I had done a lot of manual configuration (template, other contributions, etc.), so thought this message might be normal for that, but not the folder just disappearing! So - I have uploaded a new install from my backup folders combined with a download of oscommerce-2.2rc2a. Now when I go to the mydomain.com/store/insall , I get an error message denying access. I have emailed my web hosting (not sure I have the database server name right). Question: is this the only problem or is it that I am trying to use the same SQL database? Also: if I go to mydomain.com/store/admin, I get this message: Warning: mysql_connect() [function.mysql-connect]: Access denied for user 'mysql'@'localhost' (using password: NO) in /home/poodlecl/public_html/store/admin/includes/functions/database.php on line 19 Unable to connect to database server! Guest
Lisa, If you run the install again, you will lose any additions to the catalog that you have made. You could create a new blank database, run the install on that database.......then import your old database into the new database, thus saving any changes you had made. Also, be aware that any Database changes you made for contributions will also be imported, so ensure your new store has the same contributions installed. Chris ps. It sounds like your host is completely responsible for the lost data.
