zuckerwar
We've set up some product attributes but they are not working properly. For the base product, the OPTION VALUE is 0.00 and the PREFIX is blank. The base price is the default product price, $5. When we add this to the shopping cart the price is correct. For the larger product, the OPTION VALUE is 83.99 and the PREFIX is blank. This offers the customer the larger size for $83.99. After adding the larger product to the shopping cart, the price for this item is shown as - $78.99. A negative number? Ideas and suggestions appreciated! zuckerwar
Ideas, anyone? I installed a brand new version of osCommerce (the latest), restored the database and still have the same problem. I can't believe I'm the only one having this problem with product attributes?
Guest
I'm having a similar problem. Everything w/the store was working fine & now suddenly products either have $0 in the cart or a negative value. Example: 1 product with 2 sizes, 2oz and 6oz, one is 38, the other is 76. If you add the first product to the cart, you get $0 listed as the price in the cart. If you add the 6oz version, it goes to - $35. I'm not sure what the guy adding products to the store did but I'm thinking it has to be something to do w/product attributes. Everything worked fine before we started using size attributes. Anyone have any ideas where I might look to debug this?

I should add that products that don't have any size attributes work fine & appear in the shopping cart a-ok.
zuckerwar
I've discovered that the attribute function doesn't work as I thought. For the base product you leave the OPTION VALUE at zero. This will show the base price that you set up with the product. For variations from the base product, you can only use the attributes to INCREASE the price from the base price. YOU CAN'T SIMPLY SET A NEW PRICE. For example, your 2 oz. size is 38; your OPTION VALUE for the larger 6 oz. size will be 38 with a "+" in the PREFIX. So the customer will see 38 for the base 2 oz. product; and a drop down box will give the customer the option to increase to 6 oz. for "+ 38." I should add that products that don't have any size attributes work fine & appear in the shopping cart a-ok.
anola82
THANK YOU Zuckerwar You helped me so much this was the only problem holding me back from opening my store I also did not realise that price needs to be 0.
