Auto Remove Sold Out Stock?

Hi

 

I have been trying to figure out if there is a way for the store to automatically remove items which are sold out.

 

A few times people have ordered the sold out stock and I have had to contact and refund as they haven't read the sold out message.

There is a setting in admin - config - stock - allow checkout. Set that to false. The solution in checkout_process.php mentioned in

this thread also works for me on my test store. Can't guarantee it will work for you. Backup and backup again before trying it.
