God's Eternal Masterpiece
I am looking for a way to change the product listing in the index.php page which displays all the products under each category. By default, osCommerce lists all the products in alphabetical order. However, I would like to change it so that the products are automatically displayed in order of the date they were added so that the newest products are always on top. I know the products_new.php page is designed to do just this, but I would like to carry that capability over to my main pages as well. I have modified my index.php, categories.php, and product_listing.php pages for other contributions, so I am not interested in entirely replacing all the code with something new. I just need some code that I can add or modify in the main products page. I have a minimal understanding of PHP, so I can't recognize the code in the products_new.php page that does this. I would be grateful for any assistance in this matter since I don't want my newer products hidden away at the bottom of a page by default simply because they start with an "s" instead of an "a".
