sgflowers
Hi, I need to get a good beginner php programming book which would help with understanding and modifying oscommerce code. I have professional php programming 4 by wrox and i found it to be an excellent reference but a little bit complex for starting from no programming experience and limited html knowledge Does anyone have a suggestion on another book which will take me through some project tutorials to learn the basics? Thanks, kevin
digi
Hello Kevin, When I started to learn php the only book that HELPED me is "Beginning PHP4" by wrox. I was just like you, I only knew html, and a little javascript, I have bought many many PHP book's, and this book helped me the most, I dont think you will find a better book. my 2 cents. digi *Outlined in chalk everone looks the same* Currently useing OSC 2.2 MS1 running on Apache/1.3.27 (Unix) (Red-Hat/Linux) mod_jk/1.2.0 mod_perl/1.26 PHP/4.3.3 FrontPage/5.0.2 mod_ssl/2.8.12 OpenSSL/0.9.6b
dreamscape
when I started using osCommerce a couple months back in November I didn't know a lick of PHP. Reading the online manual at php.net helped me out tremendously with editing the code and coming up with my own.
