Guest
Hi Jack, I have 6 web sites set up in early 2006 by a web designer selling products through WorldPay. The 6 sites although different are on a multi-store i.e. selling the same products. They say it now getting difficult to add more bells and whistles that a modern web site requires and have advised upgrading to OS Max. My problem is they want a kings ransom to do it. More than I paid them to design and set up the original sites in the first place. Are they having me on? shouldn't an upgrade be able to overwrite the original program, preserve the data but add new features? Your advice would be appreciated John
ntd
Adding bells and whistles that site require??? A successful e-commerce site needs to look professional, process orders securely, and get found on search engines. All of that can be done with osc 2.2 with the right upgrades. I you WANT new features that your current sites don't have. It may be easier to use oscmax instead of modding osc a lot. Oscmax has a lot of mods in it already. Conversion? Set up the sites with the designs you want and transfer the database. No big deal. If they are suggesting this with out being requested by you they may just need the work and you look prime.
