Hi guys, I have a little problem with google indexing the https:// product pages!

I've stopped it from going anywhere in the basket (using robots.txt) but it still found it's way somehow to ssl pages...

Now.. is it because when you are in the basket and you press back button or click on any link on the website even if it's a product_info page it's secure?

Is there any way to change it?

Anyone?

Cheers

You need to enable the admin->Configuration->Sessions->Prevent Spider Sessions setting. You may also need to update your spiders file (see the contributions section).

Jack

My Prevent Spider Sessions is enabled.

By the spiders file do you mean robots.txt???

mine contains

"User-agent: *

Disallow: /admin

Disallow: /account.php

Disallow: /advanced_search.php

Disallow: /checkout_shipping.php

Disallow: /create_account.php

Disallow: /login.php

Disallow: /login.php

Disallow: /password_forgotten.php

Disallow: /popup_image.php

Disallow: /shopping_cart.php

Disallow: /specials.php

Disallow: /products_new.php

Disallow: /redirect.php

"

that was all working fine and then suddenly google started indexing product_info files from ssl server ;(

no, he's talking about the includes/spiders.txt file. this holds a list of the agent names used by the popular spiders. you site statistics should tell you what browser/agents are looking at these pages. you can then add those names to the list...or look at the updated spiders lists in the contributions.
