Options and Attributes

Hi there all,

Im part of an online store which, amongst other things, offers online services to other websites.

Basically, some of our products are only valid if the client submits a URL, if they dont submit it in the coments box or whatever, it needs to be chased up.

We have tried the product_attributes_option_type_3.0 contribution, and this is limited in a couple of ways for our needs.

1. URL typically consists of more than 32 characters.

2. There is no 'check' to see if the user has entered details at all, it can be bypassed by clicking on add to cart -> checkout, resulting in a pointless excercise.

3. If a quantity > 1 is selected, say X quantity, then X number of distinct URL's need to be submitted.

4 (bonus) verification of standard formatting for URL same as email must have '@' symbol to be valid email.

Surely there are others out there that sell products to other websites, hence requiring this type of input on a case by case basis.

Is anyone able to steer me in the right direction, I got no idea where to start on modifying the product_attributes existing mod.

Regards,

Max.
