yes
I just downloaded OScommerce to my PC, and I like to try it out. How do I go about installing it on my local PC. What does it mean to unzip and extract...create database...? How do I go about this. A detailed step-by-step would be nice. This question has probably been asked a million times. I am a beginner....please be nice. Thanks very much for your help. AL

If you go to the top of this forum you will find a pinned post called "Quick Install Guide, For reference" go to post 12 in it and follow the instructions for downloading and installing XAMPP first. XAMPP is a server for your PC that you can install oscommerce on to play around with it. You should not run it as a production server. There are excellent instructions on their site and the folks on their forums are very helpful with XAMPP. Download the latest version I believe it is 1.7. Ignore the line in post 12 regarding php4 and php5. The current version of oscommerce runs php5. Once you have XAMPP up and running go to the first post and follow the instructions to install oscommerce. If you follow the instructions you'll have an oscommerce site up and running on your pc to play with.
