ptannjr
Hello, I am a newbie here and a novice over all. I work for a distributor and would like to add online ordering for out dealers but need it hidden from public view and crawlers. Here is what i am looking to do, 1: Online ordering that is secured 2: integrate into quickbooks for qty on hand 3: multiple pricing levels for different customers. Price 1, Price 2, Price 3 and such 4: track back orders I am sure i will have more as i go but those are the basics. Any help would be appreciated. ptannjr
another contribution - Customers must log in to see prices see www.owl-visual.com Thanks Guys. I appreciate it. Now i have to figure out how to implement. I dont see a problem, maybe it is even a benifit if the catalog is open to public but not the pricing. Just out of curiosity, if i tie this in with qty on hand will that be open to the public or to the logged in dealers or can i adjust it some how? arietis
need it hidden from public view and crawlers. if you want it hidden from crawlers, you can use a robots.txt file to disallow the crawlers, as well as placing a noindex, nofollow in the meta tags. most well-behaved crawlers will then ignore your pages. people will still be able to get to your pages, but they shouldn't be indexed. if you want the pages hidden you'll have to take other steps, like using a password to protect the directory. depends on how far you want to go with it.
