I am using a template os osCommerce and after install, the admin was fully unlocked and I want to know how I can password protect it. If anyone knows how I can do this, Please share it here and explane all the steps needed to set it up. I am no experience with this and is a first time I am doing this. If you know, can you please explane in the most detail. I was going to link a specific site to help you with this, but I would think it safer for me to suggest you do a websearch for "Protect directory with htaccess" or something similar. It is a sever side thing you need to do within the osC admin folder, and can be quite tricky, needing you to create two text files (htaccess and htpasswd). My ISP was a great help though, and even provide a facility to create jumbled code for my passwords for even more security. You will need something like BBEdit to create the files, because anything that starts with a full-stop, as htaccess files do, can't generally be seen on the system.
