Guest
Complete newbie here, trying to get up to speed on oscommerce and various derivatives (I know php, mysql, html, css, javascript very well). I'm trying to figure out what the pros and cons of using one or the other is. Also, I have seen reference to BTS, STS, and ATS, but cannot seem to find out where they are or if any documentation exists for them. If you can provide any guidance, I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks. Dean

ricksteruk2005
to be honest I know very little about BTS, most people i know tend to use STS because it suits them better. ♥kymation
If you're that good with code, leave the templates alone. They'll cause problems later when you add other Contributions to your site. Most Contributions are not compatible with templates, or will require a lot of changes to work. You'll end up spending more time on code changes and fixes than you'll save with a template. Just make the changes you need to the stylesheet and the rest of the pages. Regards Jim See my profile for a list of my addons and ways to get support. Regards Jim Jim may be correct regarding BTS but the Simple Template System (STSv4.5.8) does not have any issues with well programmed contributions, which I'm sure you do not want any poorly written add-ons on your shop. Purchased templates is another beast all together as there is very little support, poorly written code and it is definitely buyer beware.
