From an HTML document into a store

I first designed a page in photoshop, then sliced it and made it into a working 3-column webpage. I'd read that STS would let me then place commands on the page that I thought would fill my boxes with the relevant data, but instead it places the same boxes in the boxes I already made.

 

Here's what I have:

 

As you can see, the $breadcrumbs command works, but not much else.

 

Playing with stylesheet.css doesn't seem to allow me to create tables as boxes.

 

I like to figure out how to customize boxes more, with or without STS.

 

I'd be really thankful if someone could point me in the right direction.
