Currency Symbol Not Registering

Hi,

 

I am having problems getting the pound symbol £ to register as the 'left symbol' in my new default currency. All other currency settings update fine and if I choose another symbol (i.e. $) that also works, it only seems to ignore the £ symbol. It does not show in the currency summary panel or anywhere.

 

Anyone else had this problem?

Is there a file I can edit manually?

Entered "£" into symbol_left field in currencies table. This resolved the problem.
