John the Great
Hi guys, Got a wee issue with our oscommerce store. On the home page (http://www.shoptraveldoctor.com/) it displays under categories "(11)" without showing any categories. It takes a refresh to display them properly. Any ideas what would be causing this? ta, - John

Phil77
shows first aid 11, insects 39, sun protection 4, travel accessories 142 and water 11 straight away when I look. Maybe it was your cookies?
John the Great
Hi Phil, Thanks for your reply. Yes, it appears to be showing the categories fine now. Since posting this problem we unticked 'force the use of cookies'. This creates the problem of having to sign-in multiple times sometimes. When we had the 'force the use of cookies' ticked it'd only show "(11)" under categories. Also another small problem we are having (that may also have something to do with cookies) is that I have no items in my cart when I goto "view cart" but then when I goto checkout some items magically appear! (I think they may be from a previous session). I've tried deleting all the browsers history etc. but that doesn't seem to help. Any ideas on this issue? So yes... any ideas or possible tips as to how to fix this little irritating issue would be greatly appreciated! thanks, - John
Phil77
i'm new to this too but my sessions in admin are set to; force cookie use-false check ssl session id-true check user agent true-false check ip address-false prevent spider session-true recreate session-true I think the last one needs to be true so you dont have that problem. I think you can also clear your cache in cache control in admin. Dont know if that will help but good luck
John the Great
At the moment my values are as below. I'm not sure whether /tmp/ and /tmp = the same directory. Should they both be the same? Cache Use Cache true Cache Directory /tmp/ Sessions Session Directory /tmp Force Cookie Use False Check SSL Session ID False Check User Agent True Check IP Address False Prevent Spider Sessions True Recreate Session True
Phil77
i think they are the same. If you go in admin to tools then cache control I think you can refresh it with the refresh symbol on the right.
John the Great
Ok I tried that and it didn't seem to help. Something I noticed though...that might be relevant: When I've logged in as a customer and click on "My Account" or "Checkout" it has a ".secu.net" as part of the link...whereas with "Cart contents" it doesn't. Would this mean the link to "Cart contents" is wrong? Hmm *tries manually putting in the supposed correct link with the .secu.net inserted in the appropriate place*... Yes that appears so... so somewhere in the code the link is wrong... and thus displaying an empty shopping cart. Any ideas where this code is? I think it must've happened when I added another add-on.
