ixbiosxi
I was wondering if it was possible to import an access database that contains all my products instead of rekeying every damn item. I have somewhere around 25,000, thats alot of room for error Is it also possible to use the attributes options to where if they select one color it only show available sizes for that color. I have somewhere around 30 colors per item and 10 sizes per item but only 7 of those sizes are available in all colors. For an osCommerce and STS Tutorial click the www button in my profile. ixbiosxi
i saw the contribution, what i need to be able to do is upload or import my product.mdb file into oscommerce so i dont have to rekey 25,000 items. also when i change prices 2-6% next year i dont want to have to manually rekey everything again in my visual manufacturing database. kn1ght
What I did is import all to excel, edited it. Then from excel you converted them back to the original format.
ixbiosxi
i guess my question is how do i import the products into the shopping cart, and what fields do i use for identifiers like price, size, quantity and so on. loxly
Go to the contributions section and download and install the Easy Populate contribution. It is an easy contrib to install, so hopefully you won't have any problems. Then follow the directions to export your products to an excel download. This will give you the format and field names that it can import. You can open your db in excel and copy/paste the tables into the correct order. Then you can upload the products to the osc database using the same Easy Populate program. There are directions for splitting the file if it is too large to load all at once. Â Unfortunately the attributes are stored separately, so you will also need the Attributes Sorter and Copier contribution to add similar attributes to a large group of products. Â I don't know if there is another way around it other than a custom made upload or if that is even possible. loxly
You need to edit the corresponding entry in EasyPopulate.php if you are using it. [no external urls in signatures please, kthanks]
