BearRiver
Do you currently have google analytics going on your site? If so, what is currently bringing users to your site? And what is getting good page rank, but isn't getting the clicks? Have you published any blogs? Posted on forums? Maybe spend a little money with adwords or the like? Does your site have any content besides the shopping cart?
WebDev22
We're launching another site as well and noticed several contributions for Google Site Maps. I'd like to hear some feedback and recommendations before proceeding. Here's the one I had planned to install before noticing others: http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contributions,3233? Jack_mcs
Nice collection. What do you recommend for tackling the Google XML Site Map? Thanks. The Google XML Site Map SEO contribution is an update of Google XML Site Map,which is no longer supported. WebDev22
The Google XML Site Map SEO contribution is an update of Google XML Site Map,which is no longer supported. Jack I see now. So "Google XML Site Map SEO" (http://addons.oscommerce.com/info/6583) is an update of "Google XML Site Map Feed" (http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contributions,3233). It appears that "Google XML Site Map SEO" is comprehensive and contains everything needed to implement the Google Site Map. Can you confirm? Or, do I need to first implement "Google XML Site Map Feed" prior to implementing "Google XML Site Map SEO"? Thanks, Brett

WebDev22
Jack, I just uploaded this to the first of four sites and it installed perfectly. Thanks for the contribution. One thing I'm not sure about is in regards to "Submit a Sitemap" in Google Webmaster Tools. Our ../googlesitemap/index.php page shows four sitemaps, with their paths and xml file names. Do we upload all four of these to Google Webmaster Tools? Brett

blaireth
Hey! How are you? I noticed that you posted this a long time ago and probably got an answer to your query a long time ago but I have one for you. Sorry to bother you and ask you out of the blue but I just found your question and since Idon't even know how to ask a question here I am. So yo uasked what were some good seo tips -to sum up in short- and some of the things mentioned to do were things i'm already familiar with. My webmaster set this whole oscommerce up for me and then left me high and dry and I don't know much html. My webmaster gave me crappy crappy crappy headers for optimizing my site and etc. and I have no idea how to begin doing these things or editing my homepage (both the text and the html stuff). You sounded like you're at least familiar with THAT wich is much better than me so could you tell me how to change the headers that show up in the browser when a search engine spiders my site, etc., and maybe how to edit homepage text? Thanks so much and if you don't have time to reply no prob. but if you do I would really appreciate it... Thanks! Sorry I know nothing! blaireth
