Guest
Hi, a total novice newbie in need of help. I am not at all technical but do have admin control over my site. It was built for me by someone else who is now too busy to assist as his own business has taken off. He did teach me how to do a few things and I have learned a few as I have gone along, but not the technical terms for what they are, I just manage to do them. The site has the option for people to request a link submission, but just recently we are getting spam link requests several times a day. This is starting to get annoying so I would like to remove this function and just encourage genuine link requests to be e-mailed instead. The thing is I do not have a clue where to start or even where to go to do this. In the Links Manager facility all I have is the option to approve, delete or suspend links as well as creating new ones. But I don't see anywhere that remotely looks like a Link Request submission thing. Any help, advice or tips that I can understand will be very gratefully received. Sorry the rules a bit closer. I only bumped as it had gone off the front page with virtually no reads. I really am ignorant about this so do not have a clue which support thread is relevant. Please could you give me a clue.

But could you please give me some idea where I find the form pages that it mentions so that I start to put that there. Thanks
spooks
Details of support threads are given with the contribution docs, look there, if you don't have them find the contrib & download anew. No-one nows which u used so can't say otherwise Search for contribs with google, put site:http://addons.oscommerce.com/ then query Search the forum with google by putting site:http://www.oscommerce.com/forums then query. Thank you very much for replying, but is there any chance you could make it a bit simpler for me, please. I really am a novice here and do not have a clue what a contribution document is and where to find one to download it if it is needed. When I enter what you have typed above into google I get to a page that is a list of Community Add-Ons. Is that where I look for contribution documents? I don't know what 'then query' is meant to signify or what I am meant to type. Sorry for being so ignorant but this is really really like a foreign language at the moment. I am there now. It will take me a while to see which is the right one, but at least now I am looking in the right place. Sincere thanks for your help and patience with this dimwit!
