size of backup sql-files

Does anyone have a answer or a solution for this?

 

In the original OsCommerce there's an option to backup your database by using the admin/backup.php file. Off course I have automatied this by using auto_backup_db.php file, but the thing is this:

 

If I backup my database through a client like PHPMyAdmin the file size is 10,4Mb big, but If I backup through the admin of OsCommerce, the file size is suddenly twice this big: 21,5Mb.

 

Does anyone know how to solve this issue so the backup of OsCommerce doesn't take so much space?

Hi Jan,

 

I didn't try this contribution, I've installed it just now and my backup-file is just 7.8Mb. Even smaller than with PHPMyAdmin.

 

thanx alot.

 

Now I have to try to auto-backup with this script.
