Group discount

Did find a few threads on this contribution (group discount) but a only few post but noting to do with my question.Piece of the code has me a bit confused. Below is the code:

 

add to the "customers_groups" table a record with id "1", name "Default" and discount = 0

execute on table "customers":
UPDATE customers SET customers_groups_id = 1;

 

Not very sure how to enter this code into phpMyAdmin. Any help would be appreciated. thanks.
