Auto assign Customer Group in create_account.php

I would like to auto assign customers who complete the form create_account.php to a specific customer group.

 

For example, customers that have not completed the form will be RETAIL customer group.

Once they complete the form they will be assigned WHOLESALE customer group.

 

Do I specify $customer_group_id somehow?

 

Any idea ?

Currently, my wholesale customer group is number 2

 

I'm thinking that I should say something like this:

 

$customer_group_id = '2'

 

But I am not sure if that is correct or where exactly I should put it.
