lerningkurv Posted February 5, 2009 Share Posted February 5, 2009 Just doing some homework first, I hate doing things twice Im ready to add a cc module and was looking for some opinions as to the 'best' cc module Heres some questions Is it neccessary for customers to create an account in osc to purchase? If not then will I receive the pertinent info back from the cc processing such as shipping info? I would prefer not to store customer nfo locally if possible any other feedback is great OsCommerce is set up to require customers to create an account to purchase, but you can install a contribution to purchase without account, such as: http://addons.oscommerce.com/info/355 There are others, so do a search in the contribution section. You don't need to store customers info locally if you use a module, because you would need a merchant account to accept credit cards anyway (except for the “credit card” module, which is not safe and shouldn't be used because it sends the info via email), and an SSL certificate to get all that info encrypted. If you don't want to spend on all that, then you'd be better off using paypal or an external service like that. You'd receive an email with the customer's info for shipping. Hope this helps.
