not sure if I get what you are asking.

If you mean the change address drop down list in checkout_shipping_address.php, there is like for all drop downs, the native OS drop down menu used.

Only if you switch in the mobile configuration: Use Native Drop Down Menus to "false", you get them enhanced by jquery mobile and can change the color in the stylesheet: theme-Osc-min.css or whatever you renamed your stylesheet.

I'm just working on the Define Content add-on as I use this a lot to keep things like t's & c's up to date and don't want to have to change everything in 2 places...

Is it possible to jump to an external URL using the tep_button_jquery function?  I can do it with the standard tep_draw_button but the syntax is different me thinks!

 

I need to jump to MailChimp so that users can manage their subscription to my newsletter.

I'm thinking to stop iosc Mobile development and go to BS 2.3.4 and 2.4 responsive direction.

If you get this implemented to mobile, feel free to upload your solution.

@@rabon33 interesting article. I can tell you my mobile conversions with this addon is slightly better than desktop (just over 4%). And (I mentioned this in another post the other day) my tablet conversions (I'm currently serving the desktop site to tablets) is by far the worst.

 

@@raiwa I would think iOSC still has some value - in particular for those who agree with the above article.

 

What is stopping someone who does love this addon from implementing with 2.3.4BS or 2.4 etc...I'm sure it could be done with independent jquery calls in the mobile header?

 

The average "joe" has trouble with managing one OSC file set - with iOSC I'm (just barely) managing 2 file sets. I couldn't imagine managing a 3rd file set for tablet.

 

However, I could certainly see using this addon together with 2.3.4 BS. This gives the slight responsiveness required for tablets and the full mobile experience the article speaks of.

 

Maybe I'm too new here.... but I would not give up just yet @@raiwa

Some thoughts about iosc Mobile:

 

- I agree that the arguments for a specific set of mobile optimized pages were valid until now and had advantages in comparation to responsive design, faster page load etc.

- However once most mobile devices use G4 connection and modern devices with double processer and plenty of memory will be mayority on the market, there is IMO not much reason left for the additional cost and work.

- Core oscomerce will soon include responsive design based on bootstrap and will be touch screen optimized.

- BS is already available for the actual core versions 2.3.3.4 and 2.3.4.

- Amazon, walmart etc. do not use oscommerce and oscommerce users are not Amazon, walmart etc. :-)

- When I say "I'm thinking to stop iosc Mobile development" I mean to stop including new features and to stop continue support for the next versions based on BS (OSC 2.4, 2.5). But of course I still will be ready to update fixes and compatibility support for the actual core versions at least for some more time.

- Together with Scott we just prepared the PayPal App support which will be published soon.

 

- It's just that I believe in very short time the BS core versions will leave it without sense to offer the ioscMobile add-on in competition and I prefer to use time, energy and experience to improve the core BS responsive solution rather then to continue with iosC Mobile dev.

- I any case I believe it's quite "mature" and doesn't need more improvements or new features.

For the first iPad - iOs - Puffin...... I needed to add "it|" after "silk).+mobile|" to trigger redirect for that device.

 

NOTE: Adding generic "android" may cause that all devices using Android trigger the redirect, this includes Netbooks.

I've been testing live for a couple days now and all seemed good. But I've had a couple complaints of laptops re-directing to mobile.

@@raiwa yes, this seem to work and be stable. I have been testing since just before Christmas (please keep in mind this is our slowest time of the year - for orders and traffic).

 

Take a look at the screen cap attached however at the page views per session. It seems to be a good result. No one is complaining....

 

Just a couple quick things.

 

Amazon Kindle Fire doesn't seem to pick up the re-direct. And also some of the Galaxy Tab (2 and 4) and Note (2 and 10).

Should be the second parameter set to false without apostrophs.

Compare to the standard newsletter checkbox.

You should try to update to the last version series 5: iOSC_5_4rev2. I noticed that the SEO URL support for mobile is also missing.

If this doesn¡t help you'll need to update to a newer version, I'm not sure at all if version 5 was SSL compatible.

The version you are running is not my development, so I can't say how much job it is to make it SSL compatible.

 

I began developing iosc since version 5, older versions are from other contributors.

The actual version 7.5.6 is for sure SSL compliant and tested with SSL. Another big difference to your actual version is that the mobile files have the same filenames like the main files, but they are located in a subdirectory (mystore.com/mobile/) or under subdomain (m.mystore.com), which is compliant to the google recomendations for mobile versions.
Update instructions are available since my first version 5.0 up to the actual version 7.5.6., not for older versions, as far as I remember.
However there are so many changes that it for sure would be the better choice to install a new fresh 7.5.6 version and apply the necessary customizations again.

However there is a huge list of many improvements, new features and fixes. You can get an idea reading the change-log doc included in the newest version. You'll find there also detailed installation instructions and help docs for add-on integration and customization.
There is also support and instructions for the most common add-ons available in the contribution support package.

For kindle: all Models included in the user agent switcher work for me correct.

If you know the exact model and it's user agent string which doesn't trigger redirect, we could try to fix it.
