schatham Posted February 3, 2009 Share Posted February 3, 2009 I have an OSC site where items can be purchased, and would like to offer flat rate shipping (say $7.50) for items with a combined packed weight of less than 5 lbs. However, on other items (gift baskets for example), where you have an irregular box that has to be packed a certain way, I want to disallow that & force them to choose between USPS & UPS shipment - to not even show flat rate as an option. An example of both: A customer purchases 1 cookbook & 4 mixes from me, and I offer the option of $7.50 flat rate shipping, since the amount is under 5lbs. Another customer orders 4 cookbooks & 4 mixes and I want to disallow the flat rate since the total package/cart weight is over 5lbs. A third customer orders a gift basket that has to be packed in an 12x14x22 box that weighs 8 lbs, and I want to disallow flat rate shipping.
