drjay
I think this is the right forum. I did a search and the first 5 pages didn't seem to indicate this is a big problem. I have my site up and everything is seemingly running fine but I noticed in the whos_online database that one IP address sometimes has multiple session_ids. Sometimes 5+. I haven't received any functionality complaints, but this can't be good. Each of the sessions shows them on a different page. I can't tell if it's because someone is using tabs, or just a messup in the db. Is this normal or do I have a setting wrong?
drjay
Nothing? I'll take stabs in the dark at this point.
Guest
It's normal. Each open window is tracked as a discrete session in OSC, so if they even open a popup window and don't close it you're going to get "shadow" IP addresses. Don't worry about it unless these IP connections are persistent over a Looooong period of time (like days).
