vendetta64
This is my first post here so hello all, my names Ash. Ok, up until now I've searched for any problems I've encountered in these forums but right now I can't find my problem. Basically, I have hosting with UK2.net (who seem to be quite useless) and they automatically create a blank database for you on signup, with the db name username and pass already set. When coming to install oscommerce I'm finding that my database name and username are one character too long. My database name is 17 characters and it looks like the limit is 16, I know this because on the left along with the error it always quotes the username@localhost with the last character missing from the username part. Is there any way to get around this? I tried editting it in one of the configure pages but obviously I still get chucked to the 1st step of the install screens. I hope this makes sense, Thanks guys. ~Ash
Guest
Are you sure the name you are putting in for database name is not your host name? Usually you make up a database name and user name.
