Guest Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 Hello, I was wondering if you already happened to have a complete set of thumbnail images and matching full size images would it be possible to use them with osCommerce directly, and how would you point to the different image files? For example I have a collection of JPEG's in this kind of format... myitem1.jpg (the full size image about 200w x 300h) myitem1thumb.jpg (a thumb image 100w x 80h) Any advice would be appreciated.
oschellas Posted February 3, 2009 Posted February 3, 2009 It would be easier to use the "on the fly thumbnailer" contribution, in that case you would only need 1 image.
Guest Posted February 3, 2009 Posted February 3, 2009 I appreciate the reply; I will experiment with manually adding images to the product description pages. I know this does mean a lot of extra work but I think the overall result would be better. I plan to remove the click to enlarge function and insert the full size image directly on the product description page in its place. I think with the right level of image optimization the web space required would not increase too much.
