somewherehot
We have installed seo url. It has been working fine, but today we got this error when trying to navigate to the seo urls This web page has a redirect loop. The web page at null has resulted in too many redirects. Clearing your cookies for this site may fix the problem. If not, it is possibly a server configuration issue and not a problem with your computer. I dont know what happened to cause this issue, so we have turned SEO URL off. We can now navigate around the site fine. The thing that surprises me though is that the SEF URL's still work and point to the correct page, but of course when you navigate away from the page, we go back to non-sef urls. We have google ads pointing to the SEF URL's. Will one day the SEF URL's suddenly stop working and show a page not found error? Can any provide some help/ input? Thanks John

Thanks John The title of this post is wrong. ULTIMATE SEO URLs does not cause looping issues (not 2.1d ORIGINAL updated anyway), it is however perfectly possible for an SEO URLs user to create looping issues. More than likely related to .htaccess make sure that .htaccess contains the correct code and no further code that may create issues. If you are not using 2.1d ORIGINAL updated then change. Other than that have you modified any of the SEO URLs code? I'm pretty sure we using the latest version - this site was only built 6 weeks ago It was really strange it was working up until 1:36 today, then boom looping crazy. I was concerned that the SEF urls that are currently pointing to the site would stop working now we have turned sef urls off, but I dont think that this is the case. I checked the .htaccess file and can see that it rewrites /monitors-above-c-23_42.html?filterid=42 based upon the"-c-" part. There is no database that holds the urls associated with each product. Can you confirm this for me? Thanks for your feedback
♥FWR Media
Can you tell me how it is possiblef the user to create the looping issues. It is possible for users to break vurtually anything. the .htaccess file hasnt been changed in days. How many days is that then? (in relation to when the problem started) I'm pretty sure we using the latest version - this site was only built 6 weeks agoIt was really strange it was working up until 1:36 today, then boom looping crazy. Code doesn't just "break" something has to change be it server or user code. SEF URLs? if you are using the standard experimental "search engine friendly urls then turn them off. somewherehot
It is possible for users to break vurtually anything. How many days is that then? (in relation to when the problem started) - the htacces file was last updated on the 30th December when we moved the site to it's live hosting. The issue happened today Code doesn't just "break" something has to change be it server or user code. - I'm checking with my web host SEF URLs? if you are using the standard experimental "search engine friendly urls then turn them off. - The experimental URL's is turned off. - can you confirm though that the SEF URL's that were generated will continue to work because they work by the rewrite script in the .htaccess file. Ie I should not worry that the SEF URL's that we have on the Google Ads will stop working now that we have the Ultimate SEO URL turned off? Thanks again for your feedback

Thanks again for your feedback I've just heard back from the webhost that a performance improving change was implemented today that may have caused this issue. - So I have found the root cause. I think that I will continue to keep SEO URLs turned off though in case the web hosts implements any other performance improvements. But I would really like to have confirmation if possible that this url: http://www.mydomain.co.uk/monitors-above-c...tml?filterid=42 will always redirect to this page http://www.mydomain.co.uk/index.php?cPath=...amp;filterid=42 using the .htaccess file - ie no other seo url tool is needed. Thanks I just realised that this forum disguises the url on the page, so here it is with spaces: /monitors-above - c - 2 3 _ 4 2 . h t m l ? f i l t e r i d = 4 2 should convert to: /index.php?c P a t h = 2 3 _ 4 2 & f i l t e r i d = 4 2 Thanks
