Is it possible to be able to view the reviews before they are posted on the site, to stop any spam or anyone messing around.

 

i would like to be able to check the messages first for swearing and what not, instead of the messages been posted straight away, how would i do this?

After reading this I figured I'd check the contributions section I thought for sure somebody wrote an add on for this. Well I didn't find any that does what you asked, but I do know that a customer has to be logged in to write a review. In your case if you are having a problem with a particular customer you can blacklist them, delete their account, or warn them and delete the review.

 

If you are having problems with multiple customers there are some options. First install the VVC (Visual Verification System) http://addons.oscommerce.com/info/1560

this should stop somebody from auto creating accounts. It also stopped us from receiving spam via contact us, and additionally people that were using our server to send spam about whatever via the tellafriend feature. (VVC gets my vote for must include with the next release version of OSC)

 

Second you can add "Capture IPaddress from reviews" contribution here: http://addons.oscommerce.com/info/2216 This should allow you to see where the reviews are coming from in turn it warns them their IP is logged. Once you have their IP you can simply IP deny them through your website and they are cut off completely.

anyone have actual install instructions for "Complete Review System " I have the files but I need to be able to put the code in myself as i do not have a standard site?
