Jayman11
My business has been picking up at a descent pace. Lately I have been getting some nasty emails about not doing phone orders. I am adding a phone line today and have a way to process cards manually. But my question is, How do you do your phone orders with OSCommerce? If I take the order over the phone I have no easy way to really enter it into oscommerce other than making an account for the person or using a general account with diff ship to's. What are you guys using to do phone orders?
Guest
You could add the contribution : Purchase without Account/Fast Easy Checkout.

Guest
There are some Point of Sale systems (some free, some paid) that may help. See http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contributions,4829 also. -jared
Jayman11
Thanks guys! Gonna look into those. I was thinking about the manual order maker but back in the day i installed AJAX order editor so I would have to figure out how to back that out of there and then add the new order editor in and the manual editor. So biggest hurdle would be getting the AJAX backed out properly to be good as new. I'm gonna google those other pos ideas too. Thanks!
qriusgeorge
I use authorize.net. I found that a lot of the older folks who make purchases don't like to put their cc# online, so I made an order form that they can print and mail in. If they don't want to mail it in, they can just call and I log into my authorize.net account and manually type in their payment info (check or credit card). Giving them the option to mail it in has saved me atleast a dozen over the phone orders so far.
jester420247sl
Paypal has a virtual terminal that you can use. That is what I am considering for myself.
ccaylor
We use the paypal website payments pro with the virtual terminal and are very happy with it so far. Typically we go through creating a new account for the customer and that way they can use it in the future and we get their email address on our newsletter list. We can then process the payment via the site just like they would or via the virtual terminal. The former being our preference so that the order status is updated automatically. We also installed the Master Password contrib so we can log into existing customers accounts who call in looking for help with an order.
Guest
I use PayPal Virtual Terminal too. I don't take phone orders, but I do trade shows and stuff where I accept credit cards, so I just enter the payments in when I get home. It's cheaper than regular credit card machines, etc. and I haven't had any problems with it.
pofike
I am considering Moneybookers Virtual Terminal ( https://www.moneybookers.com/ads/merchant-account/direct-payment-processing/) Has anybody tried it?
Guest
Roberta, I am unsure about PCI DSS Compliance laws in the Dominican Republic, but the PCI DSS Compliance laws of the USA and Canada are becoming more strict. Virtual Terminals or any other MANUAL Processing of credit card information is soon likely to be non-existent. You should consider your local laws before using that method. Guest
what is the issue? trying to process transactions or having a way so that stock levels, etc are accounted for?
Mort-lemur
Hi, We use an EPDQ POS system to take payment for telephone orders, and are PCI DSS Compliant as a level 4 merchant.. The POS software is not linked into OSC at all so what we do is enter the customer name / address etc and the order items and shipping onto OSC via manual order maker - this takes care of stack, tax reporting and order update emails etc etc. Thanks Now running on a fully modded, Mobile Friendly 2.3.4 Store with the Excellent MTS installed - See my profile for the mods installed ..... So much thanks for all the help given along the way by forum members.
