Modifying text for products?

Hi all

I have set up my OSC store and I am busy adding products. To save time I thought I would ftp the images into the corresponding folder on the hosting website then, each time I add a product I would just point to the image.

Unfortunately I ended up having to point towards the folder on the hard disk drive of my computer.

 

My questions:-

1. Is there a way to go directly to the image folder on hosting website instead of hard drive?

2. If I edit an already added product, I have to choose the corresponding image again. It is a waste of time if the said images are already loaded.
