rodolfo6
Hello all I have a product that will be downloaded after checkout and payment. The product has no product-attributes. According to the manual, I must enter the file name of the download in admin/Products Attributes page, in the box “Filename” below the "Product Attributes" section. When entering the file name in the box “Filename” below the "Product Attributes" section, automatically an option name and value is added and consequently the dropdown box of the available option is displayed on the webpage. Question: Is there a different space in admin where I can input the file name of the download? Or what must be done to have a download without attributes and without display of the dropdown box? Thanks rodolfo

Thanks rodolfo In order to make your product downloadable, you need to create an option at the top of your Products Attributes called download and a value of yes. Choose those two whenever you do your products attributes, otherwise your downloads will not work. Also remember to put how many days it will be available and how many downloads of it you will allow. Guest
Thanks for the information. But what can I do that the dropdown box of available option is NOT displayed on the website product page? rodolfo I thought you said there were no options other than to download it. You can add values of yes or no to the download option on your products attributes in the admin. You will need to choose which one you want there. It should show up there on your product page. Mine does even though my items at this point are all downloadable and I have no other options but yes. I don't know how to get the dropdown box to disappear. It has not caused any problems for me being there. But if you do not enable the download/yes options, the process will not work. Chelle
rodolfo6
Thank you Chelle I think the only way to remove the dropdown box of available options is to assign no attributes at all. That is what I will do. Thanks rodolfo
Guest
lol...good luck to ya then, because your downloads will NOT work without that step. You should read through the forum threads and see for yourself. My shop is all downloads, so, yeah, good luck to ya on that. Chelle
rodolfo6
I am just setting up the oscommerce site. Most - but not all - of my products are downloads. It will take some time to remove all the attributes from the products. I hope it will work. I will let you know. Thanks rodolfo
