Newbie - Forgive the Ignorance

 

I have just recently decided to take the eCommerce plunge. I have been following osCommerce for about 2 yrs now off & on. My webhost offers Elefante Free Scripts. One of the choices is osCommRes2.4.0 which, from what I can tell makes reservations and schedules events. Since I conduct seminars, webinars and private sessions in addition to my product line, I thought this would be great. Unfortunately, I can't find anything on it with a recent date.

 

I did find osCommerce 2.2 Milestone 2 Update. I am assuming this is the latest stable version. I have read the specs/ features this install offers but saw nothing about making reservations.

 

So, my question is: Is it possible to make reservations, schedule events, etc. (same features as osCommRes2.4.0) with the latest version of osCommerce?

If not, id osCommRes2.4.0 the latest stable version, is it supported and does it have the same features as osCommerce 2.2 Milestone 2 Update?

Basically, I want it all!

 

Also, my host uses php5.2.1. From what I have read osCommerce 2.2 Milestone 2 Update uses php4. I know nothing about php. Will I have a problem running this install on my server? I can't change the php version because I am running another website that requires php5.2.1 .
