Makobo
Hello, I am considering building a storefront. I do not know PHP, and I don't know how to fiddle with a database on my server. I do know HTML, and I can get by with CSS. I do not have money to pay somebody else to do it for me. Will I be able to use OSCommerce and all the contributions, or should I consider other options? My host has a 'one click install' so I'm not worried about that part, I'm mostly worried about using contributions. Thank you.
juniorprg
one click installation doesnt require any php knowledge and pretty easy to install, but some contributions need little bit of work, if you are installing basic installation, installing contributions might be easy as long as the files doesnt over lap..means if you are using a contribution to to display multiple images for products, it might be easy, but after that if you want to install enhanced product description contribution, then you have to go for a Manuel update...since same file needs to be updated....i hope you got my point. there are lot of programmers who can do a good standard oscommerce site for good rates...shop around, i am one of them :)...i hope you got my pitch... l8ter
♥geoffreywalton
With your knowledge you should get on OK. It is not rocket science. Every contribution comes with installation instructions so just follow them very carefully and you should be OK.
