When searching with advanced search and using exactly phrase for example: "battery" it always return: No result. After that I was trying in other osCommerce shops in web and there is the same error. After that I go to osCommerce demo shop on www.oscommerce.com site and there is the same error. Does anybody know solution for this error? khime
Hello I dont think the search function works with quotation marks unfortunately. If you want a specific phrase like "duracell battery" then just change the Default Seach Operator to AND. Look in your configuaration>>my store to do this
arek1
Hello I dont think the search function works with quotation marks unfortunately. Thank You for answer I will try in my configuration file, but it seems like osCommerce search should work with quotation. If You go to osCommerce demo shop: http://demo.oscommerce.com/advanced_search.php and then click "Search Help [?]" You can read: "Keywords may be separated by AND and/or OR statements for greater control of the search results. For example, Microsoft AND mouse would generate a result set that contain both words. However, for mouse OR keyboard, the result set returned would contain both or either words. Exact matches can be searched for by enclosing keywords in double-quotes. For example, "notebook computer" would generate a result set which match the exact string. Brackets can be used for further control on the result set. For example, Microsoft and (keyboard or mouse or "visual basic")."
