I really need step by step details on how to install a new template, ive looked at all other posts regarding this but its all in parts i dont really understand, I can use Filezilla to upload things. if anyone could please just explain in really simple terms it would help greatly, im sure there are others like me who would benefit from this post

Thanks so much!

Upload all your template files to your server using Filezilla ... navigate to www.yourdomain.com/install or www.yourdomain.com/catalog/install if you uploaded your files to a /catalog directory (or similar) ...

follow installation instructions: Web Based Installation Procedure

You need to upload the files to your server first before trying to access them using www.yourdomain.com/install ....

open filezilla ... access your server ... you should be in the server root ... look for a folder called public_html or public or www (all servers are different) ... if you want your store to be in a subdirectory (say you want your store to be accessed at www.yourdomain.com/store) create a new folder in the public_html or public or www directory your in then upload all your files in that new directory .... otherwise upload them to the public_html or public or www directory your in directly ... after you have uploaded all your files then access the install page www.yourdomain.com/install (or www.yourdomain.com/store/install if you uploaded your files to a subdirectory (e.g - store)) ... then follow instructions on that page I posted before
