byke
Hi there, back in 2006 I bought a custom oscommerce template and signed up to a host on a free 14 day trial system (try before you buy) Anyway 2 years later and the hosting company still hadn't tweaked I was still on their server and not being charged. To be honest, I thought the server company had gone tits up along time ago, based on the quality and issues that the server had .... but didnt rock the boat as I was on a free ride. Anyway, every once in a while I would do a back up of the database through the admin section of the OSC. I would also download the main "catalog" folder just incase. Anyway after a good free ride for a long time, I was eventually booted off without any notice. I have tried to sign up to a new host but so far I havent been able to setup my old site. So my question is this .... Is it possible to move a set up over to another host with the files I have backed up? I dont have any backup from the "phpmyadmin" (tables etc) I basically had just been downloading the the catalog folder (and internal files) Cheers Mark

byke
Thanks for the reply. Yes I used to do a backup in the admin section (see pic) and save a copy of the back up directly into one of the folders. I believe this is related to the sql? Basically if i look under catalog/admin/backups I have a group of sql files etc. I am hoping I can restore a database using such a file. however, I seem to have some of the install files missing from my ftp backups. I believe this is due to when you first configure oscommerce it asks you to delete some files?
