cutiegal Posted January 22, 2009 Share Posted January 22, 2009 Hi all, I'm a newy here so i hope i'm posting in the right area, i started a web site and have added the oscommerce site to it as i thought it would be of great use however when going through the tutorials on the editing home page i have gotten a little stuck and REAALLLY need some HELP please. in the tutorial it says: order to properly edit index.php, you should download it and edit it in your favorite text editor like Notepade. It then goes on to warn me not to edit in oscommerce file manager as it uses a php command called stripslasher and does just that, ect ect...then the tutorial shows you what files to open then goes on to say Download this page, save a copy as a backup, then edit it in a text editor then once your down upload it to your site.....well my issue is this every time i get to the index page i cant find where to download or even save a copy...as a first time user i am very confused as want to be able to change the text but every thing i do just either doesnt work or gives ma a page error in which i have to start from schratc.
