redturbo917
Hi everyone! I have a new account that will require UPS shipping. There is so much information on a few different UPS modules, I am hoping we can document here the best approach for the install of both US and international shipping for UPS. I will post my own progress here as well. Thanks! Mike

redturbo917
Mike, Have you made any progress? I need to set this up for a site as well. Brett Hi Brett, As you know, the UPS Module is no longer part of the default install. I haven't much luck so far. It seems like MVS with UPSXML is the bst option to install. Go to: http://www.oscommerce.com/forums/lofiversion/i...hp?t230763.html MVS and UPSXML install require some Php and database experience. I could likely sort this out, but I am well behind in other projects. I have had great success installing a FEDEX Module. I wonder why UPS is so difficult? Have you made in progress? WebDev22
I wonder why UPS is so difficult? Have you made in progress? Mike in Los Angeles, CA I finished installing UPSXML yesterday and, thanks to the great notes from the contributors, it was very easy. It's installed for this site if you want to check it out: www . sunvisiontanning . com. If you try it, download the latest. If I have this right, you only installed UPSXML? You only had one step? I am taking a look again and I will post results. Mike Mike, Yes, I installed what Marc posted on this page under the title "Bug fixed for 1.3.5": http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contributions,1323. There were several steps but it's well documented in the readme.txt. I started about halfway down the document where it reads "INSTALLATION", followed by STEP 1, STEP 2, etc. One brief snag I had was figuring out how to import the sql statements located in configuration_shipping.sql. However, with a little help from HostGator Chat, I was able to get it done in seconds. This is a new site on a new web hosting account so I didn't know my way around yet. I hope all goes well. Brett I have hit this snag also and I'm not having any luck finding the answer. The install instructions say: "Run the three queries found in (or use the file itself) the included sql file: configuration_shipping.sql to add three configuration keys to the table configuration." Can anyone help me out. Thanks Mark

Once there, you should see your store database listed on the left side. Click on your database to load it into the interface. Now look for the SQL button along the top of the right side pane. That should load a text box where you can paste you queries. Open the configuration_shipping.sql file in a plain text editor, copy the text, then paste it into the SQL text box and click "Go". That's it. The other way is to import the file using the import button near the SQL button. I've always used the first way. As always, be sure to backup your database before doing any edits like this. (administration > tools > backup database Hope this helps, Betsy

In case you're using some other GUI to administer your databases, you can look for a command line tool and copy and paste the messages into that. each commands have a ";" (no ") at the end of each line and be careful not to confuse back-ticks (`) with apostrophes (') which i am horrible at! haha
