The e-commerce.

Admin Panel

Hello All,

I am a complete newbie to the world of OS commerce, but having some difficulties trying to get to grips with it !!

My Server is with hostpapa.co.uk and I have used a service called Fantistico Deluxe which is integrated with Host papa to do the install for me. The problem is that I cannot access my admin panel.

at the moment I am using a temporary i/p address in stead of my domain name for the upcoming site, as I already have a store online using the site address, and want to get the store up and running with OS Commerce before I migrate the website name across. The current IP address is http://67.220.225.150/~agmyekg.

I really could do with some help all and I would really appreciate it !

Richard

First, you need to be sure the current version is being installed. If your host has not updated Fantastico in a while, it might be installing an old version of oscommerce. You can check what version using the link in my signature. Next, the url http://67.220.225.150/~agmyekg doesn't work so I doubt that the admin one, which would be http://67.220.225.150/~agmyekg/admin/ would either. Depending upon how it was installed, your configure files may be setup to use the domain name instead of the IP. You can post them here, minue the login data, if you think that might be the problem and someone will look at them.

Hi Jack,

It seems the ip address was one character short - if you click the below address you will see that there is something uploaded to the site. It is the correct version of OS Commerce and the way it has installed is without the catalogue folder itself, just all the internal files direct to the public_html file.

http://67.220.225.150/~agmyekgt/

When I enter in the above with /admin at the end the page it takes me to states the new page needs to be viewed over a secure channel. It says I should try entering https:// as oppose to Http:// but when I do that it just comes back with nothing

I dont know how to post my config files here - I am getting quite hacked off at the mo as I just want it all to work - please guide me as to where I am going wrong !!

Much appreciated !

Rich

The version to use is RC2, which can be downloaded from the above Solutions menu.

It sound like you chose to enable ssl when it was installed and the admin is now trying to use it. But ssl won't work with an IP unless it's the servers shared ssl and you use its IP. So to get it working, edit the admin/includes/configure.php file and set the enable ssl to false.
